About the BrightBags
The idea to offer event first aid all started with a bike ride from Land’s End to Twickenham a few years ago. One of the co-founders, a practising sports therapist and qualified teacher; Andrew Spaak, was brought on board to do some post-event sports massages and the organisers inquired about first aid event support as well. That launched it all. He later collaborated with paramedic; James Baggot, to enhance their integrated first aid service proposition, BrightBags.
We’ve built a thriving business offering both training and event support first aid; wrapped under the name BrightBags Education and First Aid Services, derived from the co-founder’s surnames.
But first aid is just one part of what we do. Andrew is also the former chair of the Sports Therapy Organisation in the UK and believes strongly that sports therapists don’t have a lot of flexibility over what CPD is available to them. With BrightBags, we’re creating something fun, novel and interesting to study (like working within the performing arts). It’s not the same, old boring CPD you’re used to.
